Why Vote on Day 1?
Early voters create more votes.
Get-out-the-Vote target lists are updated every night. When you’re a Day 1 Voter,
your name comes off the target list. Campaigns skip over you and contact the next person,
driving turnout as high as it can go. This is especially important for Democrats,
who have more infrequent voters.
Day 1 Voters will:
Inspire friends and family
Create media buzz about heavy voter turnout
Have time to fix registration problems
Enjoy not getting phone calls from campaigns!
Campaigns can:
Focus on turning out less-likely voters
Spend time courting persuadable voters
Benefit from the media buzz Day 1 Voters created!
Democracy wins through our public affirmation of voting!
Who Are We?
We are activists working hard to build a bright future by helping Democrats win. Important elections are often won or lost by small numbers of votes. We are doing everything possible to encourage voters and
win elections up and down the ballot.
Simon Rosenberg and his insights about "Day 1 Voting" inspired us to create the videos and other materials you'll find on this website. Please share our videos and distribute our materials in your community to encourage voters to cast their ballots on the first day possible!
